Philippians 4:6-7 KJVchild praying

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

What a wonderful portion of scripture this is.
It tells us to substitute prayer for care.

Lets look at some different translations of ‘ be careful for nothing’
The Amplified Bible says…‘do not fret or have any anxiety about anything’
The Phillips translation says…‘don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything’

This word ‘careful’  is a Greek word ‘merimnao’ which means to be distracted, troubled, anxious, fretful, or to be worried about something.
In New Testament times, this word was used primarily in connection with worry about finances, hunger, or some other basic provision of life. It pictures a person who is anxious about paying his bills, worried he wont have enough money to pay the bond or buy food for his family. This word is connected to worry about things pertaining to this earthly life.
